Helplines to help you save money and energy
One way of reducing future fuel bills is to find ways of saving energy. Here you will find a range of organisations that can provide advice about energy conservation. They can also provide information about the grants that are available to help you to -
- insulate your home,
- improve the efficiency of your heating system, and
- make energy savings around the home.
The Energy Savings Trust Helpline
Did you know that every household in the UK is now eligible for at least 50% off loft and cavity wall insulation, regardless of income?
Or that if you are aged 70 or over you may be able to get free improvements, such as insulation, to your home?
You may also be able to get free improvements if you are entitled to certain benefits.
A free and simple way to find out what you may be entitled to is to call the Energy Savings Trust helpline on freephone 0800 512 012.
This helpline can provide you with tailored information about all the help that you may be entitled to. The help you may get will depend on:
- your age,
- where you live,
- the energy saving measures you already have in place, and
- whether you are receiving any benefits.

- the services that your energy supplier can provide you with if someone in your home is elderly or has a disability or long-term health condition
The Home Heat Helpline can also put you straight through to the right person at your energy provider to find out about reduced tariffs and special payment options that may be available to you.
